It's all about power and control, the rich and powerful people, the 1%ers that over Governments bend over to, and we must obey the cops, military, and Governments. Religion has a part in this as well, there are power and control in Religion.
I think the media needs to be mindful to the fact this guy apparently wants fame/notoriety. Remember, he let one person live just so they could report back. He purposely left a witness alive JUST so they could tell people it was him. This guy wants the attention.
Then they do things like fly him back to his home state in a private jet or something. Is this how they normally transfer prisoners? Private planes?

The death penalty is little more than revenge though as it's questionable if it serves as a deterrent. As you can see this cat still murdered nine people.

"Taking our guns away" is almost always a strawman. Not many liberals seriously believe in a blanket confiscation of all firearms from gunowners. Wanting stricter controls on the sale of guns and ammunition and better background checks isn't the same as wanting to confiscate guns from current owners.
Stricter gun control and background checks can be legislated, but it will not completely solve the problem. It's really not hard to get a firearm off the street or by theft. You can even manufacture your own rudimentary firearms if you are really committed to having one illegally.
Homemade bomb recipes can be easily researched on the net. How can you legislate that? Point is, if you really want to kill people, there are more options than firearms. The problem is that this country is becoming more decadent. Not including racial hate crimes, we never had firearm violence on this scale 20 years ago and beyond. School shootings were practically non existent when I was a kid. Something has to be done to fix people in this country...a lot more whacko's in this country today than in generations past.
