Why is the theory of evolution considered a threat by certain Christians?

Well there is only one problem I can see. God judging people "righteously". This entity has killed many people and is also highly manipulative. So it really makes you wonder what a being like that would consider righteous.

One thing I find interesting is that the anti-evolution people are using an appeal-to-consequences fallacy- I.e. don't believe this stuff or you'll go to hell- when precisely nothing in the Bible says you have to not believe that or such. It's certainly not one of the rules or laws (of which as we all know, are plentiful), let alone one of the big ones.

As that's not even how it works in the Bible, their science dislike doesn't really make sense in that context, they're just trying to use it as a bludgeon here.

this is beautiful

Plus here is what I find the most insane about people saying others will go to hell not based on evil deeds, but simply because they belief the wrong thing:

If God is real he made us, correct? Some even say made us in his own image. So he made us, gave us these brains..gave us this highly inquisitive nature. Yet knowing that..he'll still apparently send you to hell for not believing. Why create people with this curiosity and then get upset when they do not accept things on blind faith?

Still posting ignorant things about something you're unfamiliar with.

There's room in the bible for evolution.

No.

Actually,100% yes.

A liberal Muslim homosexual ACLU lawyer professor and abortion doctor was teaching a class on Karl Marx, a known atheist.
"Before the class begins, you must get on your knees and worship Marx and accept that he was the most highly-evolved being the world has ever known, even greater than Jesus Christ!"

At this moment, a brave, patriotic, pro-life Navy SEAL champion who had served 1500 tours of duty and understood the necessity of war and fully supported all military decision made by the United States stood up and held up a rock.

"How old is this rock?"

The arrogant professor smirked quite Jewishly and smugly replied "4.6 billion years, you stupid Christian"

"Wrong. It’s been 5,000 years since God created it. If it was 4.6 billion years old and evolution, as you say, is real… then it should be an animal now"

The professor was visibly shaken, and dropped his chalk and copy of Origin of the Species. He stormed out of the room crying those liberal crocodile tears. The same tears liberals cry for the "poor" (who today live in such luxury that most own refrigerators) when they jealously try to claw justly earned wealth from the deserving job creators. There is no doubt that at this point our professor, DeShawn Washington, wished he had pulled himself up by his bootstraps and become more than a sophist liberal professor. He wished so much that he had a gun to shoot himself from embarrassment, but he himself had petitioned against them!

The students applauded and all registered Republican that day and accepted Jesus as their lord and savior. An eagle named "Small Government" flew into the room and perched atop the American Flag and shed a tear on the chalk. The pledge of allegiance was read several times, and God himself showed up and enacted a flat tax rate across the country.

The professor lost his tenure and was fired the next day. He died of the gay plague AIDS and was tossed into the lake of fire for all eternity.

No.

Once again, nothing in the Bible says belief or not belief in evolution has anything to do with getting into heaven.

I am pretty sure the Bible says some stuff about trying to say things not in it will or won't get you into heaven....

It's cool if you can't come up with an answer to these questions. After all..only God knows the answer to every question, right?

Good job, Final. Did like the O'Reilly/Fox reference.

I enjoyed the "smirked quite Jewishly" part myself.

*jewish smirking intensifies*

It's amusing that your own answers or lack thereof makes you gravitate towards the idea that god is a myth.

God is a myth though, if you so choose to believe. His lack of belief in God/a god is built on the exact same foundation that your belief in God is. It's what you two (and everyone else) choose to believe.

My belief is that God is a myth though

Fixed for accuracy.
