jedi under zao would attempt to restore the balance in favor the light side. so they are protecting the galaxy from the sith, by reducing the influence of the dark side balanced light side.

i think this is hilarious but this is exactly the path that ultra-orthodox jews do in israel.
they pray and study torah and they believe their prayers will protect israel from attack. israel gives them military exemption and pays for them.
catholic and buddhist monks also had similar path as did gurus of india.
if zao convinces 10, 000 jedi to focus solely on the light side it might weaken the sith by diminishing the dark side
