but carv she had the lasso. it seems likely to me that he was also absorbing THAT power, and trying to absorb the power of the lasso, a skyfather level weapon, makes that result unsurprising to say the least. and even if you wanna ignore that, we still have....all the other showings between them and against common enemies that proves this is simply a one-off and shouldn't be taken as anything more than that. /shrug

The issue is is that iirc this was during WW's big push of her secret bracelet-less God powers and Superman was being written like trash losing a bunch. The intent was obvious but it floudered as it went on. It's like when some new big hot shot rolls in and beats up Hulk and Carver screams for a month(s) straight about Grey Hulks and Bruces and needles and big giant cocks and then Dr Strange annihilates him and that's it. Carver won't accept even with that being all the context, but Carver will use something that was a flop against a Superman 10 powerups ago - Superman who was told more than once he couldn't destroy a planet, a Superman who admitted it actually. Carver used that by the way, so if proof then of Superman's power then current Superman must be eons more powerful no?
And a Superman with comparable or better feats than War God Wonder Woman and a Superman with superior hype too. A Superman who just rammed through Parasite who overpowered Wonder Woman and bridal carried her away.
Under that specific writer at that specific time to that specific Superman I fully believe Wonder Woman's secret power was intended to be above, but how consistent is Carver when Superman's full power in... well any incarnation is released? And how consistent is Carver with Superman GOAT quotes?
I can count on Carver's 9 fingers how many things he wants to count in Superman's favor and he doesn't even need to unclench his fists.
