Count Dooku vs Ahsoka

Of course Dooku was tired after fighting Anakin one-on-one. He just got his ass handed to him.

Trying to use that as evidence of Dooku being tired/fatigued prior to engaging Anakin is just silly, though.

You're talking about this, right?

No, Dooku is not "panting heavily" there... At all.

Yeah, he was. If that brief moment where Ahsoka pauses after Maul is supposed to show how much it's taking out of her then that is heavy panting according to Dave Filoni.

It's not just my interpretation, though. Dooku being "tired" prior to fighting Anakin one-on-one literally was not shown or implied in the film at all(if I'm missing something, please do point it out.) As mentioned above: unseen/unstated moments of the script are not irrefutable -- the finished product is what really matters where canon is concerned.

If it's intent on the scene I tend to take the script at face value, but if its something like dialogue or scene order being different than I obviously defer to the film.

Aside from that, there are actually quite a bit of scenes/dialogue from the script that were never shown(or were drastically altered) in the film... Do they also default to irrefutable canon, iyo? Just how far are you willing to take this rationale?

If it comes down to the interpretation of a scene I'd default to the script over my own opinion viewing a scene.

The junior novel was republished in 2014 under the Disney brand. Just saying.

But either way, I'm fine with not continuing beyond this. Obviously we aren't going to agree, and I'm not a fan of talking in circles. 👆

Well, that makes it canon then. So I'd defer to that over the screenplay. Good to know.

Ahsoka wasnt just panting though. She clearly took a time out.

Plus of course Filoni outright confirms it... so theres that confirmation.

Given how far she flung maul she would have had time to take that time out. But yeah, I don't think ahsoka could have kept fighting indefinitely.

No they don't.

In fact the junior novel makes it clear that Obi-Wan was holping they didn't piss Dooku off to the point where they made him mad which would make him stronger because he was already strong enough.

It also makes it clear that when Anakin finally was able to get the edge over Dooku was when he was completely raged out while Dooku was still following the plan.

Tbh, I don't know where the junior novels stand.

They might be canon, but I'm honestly not sure.

It seems like it is given its republished under Disney Lucasfilm Press & Disney Book Group.

cool , so anything thats 2015 onwards is canon?

Why does it matter if Dooku was tired? Considering that it seems we all agree that Anakin>Dooku anyways? This argument seems pointless. Am I missing something here?

2014 I believe and on.

Awsome . At a Galan is this legit and canon with regards To sith ranks etc ?

Yeah, it could be. I'm just not 100% sure, as the canonicity of the junior novels seems a bit dubious.

It's canon, yeah.

On Wookiepedia it says that it's not canon.

WTF! 😕

Is the script even canon anymore?

Pre-Disney only the films and TCW is canon.

Although the script is almost exactly the same as the movie, so I would use it as long as it doesnt contradict other canon sources.

For example the script explains what happened to Sidious Saber in his battle with Yoda. Yoda disarmed him. Also backed up by animatronics for the full fight and the Junior novel I believe.

I think the screenplay and novels should be canon as long as they don't contradict the films which they don't for the most part.

@Galan is it true I think it was mentioned in some canon source it stated that yoda didn’t actually disarm sidious and it stayed that sidious was a better light saber duelist Etc is that true or ?

In the junior novel it clearly makes clear Yoda won the saber duel.

And I think it's canon?

The script makes it clear as well. As does extended animatronics of the fight scene.

And thats all we have to go on given the scene is missing from the film.

even if the republished junior novel is canon, the notion that Yoda beat Sidious in sabers has been retconned by far more recent canon.

That's true.

Palpatine was still shown with his saber in this flashback sequence from Galaxy of Adventures (2019):

And this clip states- "[Palpatine] is even skilled enough with the dark side of the Force to defeat Jedi Grand Master Yoda in a lightsaber duel.":

Sidious > Yoda in sabers now. Yall gotta deal with it.
