LETHIFOLD (also known as Living Shroud)

The Lethifold is a mercifully rare creature found solely in tropical climates. It resembles a black cloak perhaps half an inch thick (thicker if it has recently killed and digested a victim) which glides along the ground at night. The Patronus is the only spell known to repel the Lethifold. Since it generally attacks the sleeping, though, its victims rarely have a chance to use any magic against it. Once its prey has been sucessfully suffocated, the Lethifold digests its food there and then in its bed. It then exits the house slightly thicker and fatter than before, leaving no trace of itself or its victim behind.
Only J.K. Rowling knows for sure if Sirius comes back or not. The reason why it’s sensible to suspect that he may, is that there is no body. Everyone around Harry were quick to point out that Sirius was really dead, but no one explained why it was so final.
The chamber that held the arch-way was called “The room of Death” (or something like that). Who knows what that arch-way is, and why Harry heard whispering. We also know Voldemort, among things, is out to conquer death. So we will most likely see the room again.
I'm positive that Sirius' death will be investigated further in the 6th book at least, even if we don't hear from him. It just came so sudden - Lupin was telling Harry that he's dead and that he can't come back, but it was strange the way that he nor Dumbledore showed much disappointment at his death. One of the thoughts that came to my mind was that maybe this was some sort of plan of the Order's, and that it was made to appear as if Sirius was dead for some reason or other. But I doubt that ... just be sure he's gonna be mentioned a fair bit in the 6th book.
jesus so much posting! i just read all of this for the past 20 min. or something and im gunna say stuff to everything i have read so you might have to look around to understand what i am talking about...
1.Deadalus is right...there are plenty of spells that are red so i think what if it wasn't a stunner. this spell that we know nothing of could have killed him. Why you ask...? avada kedavera is the killing curse because it cant be blocked i am pretty sure that no where in any of the books does it say that is the only way to kill someone. Remember sirius was tallking to bellatrix and not paying attention when she hit him maybe its a kind of curse that can kill you but there is a counter curse so you can block it. thats one of may theroys (spelling?)
2.It was called the chamber of death...i think...im pretty sure anyway.people have said it before but i will say it again.i belive the veil it a gateway to the afterlife. it is extremly old remember.
3.harry and luna could here voices why? because if it is a gateway to the after life then lunas mom and james and lily would be there and they were talking i guess but the other kids there could hear nothing maybe they havent lost anyone so they wouldnt hear them wispering? (ohh no i've gone cross eyed 🤨 so much hard thinking i need a brether 🍺 ok im good)and if you understand point 3 i think i am tring to say is...well luna said to harry that they are just behind the veil or something i think the wispering is just the loved ones waiting for them.(whoa! that was hard to right did you understand it i didnt hehe)
4.what happened to sirius body when he fell through the veil? i dont know and i dont want to guess all this thinking i got a headache!but if jkr brings him back i think it would be the next book cause if it was the 7th he would have already accepted his daeth and that would be ummm idk a big shock or something. (jesus i better stop while i am a head)
5. sirius was one of my favorite carecters and i want him back!
6. ohh yea the mirror. i never gave that much attention untill i read what you all said. i just thought she put it in there to make him fell bad cause if he listened to sirius. he would hav rememberd that he could talk to him through the mirrior and safe his liife if he rememberd that. but jkr would not do that it would be mean.
WAIT! opps we all made a mistake...I have OotP in my hands and i dont know if it means anything but sirius ducked a red spell and got hit in the chest with a jet of light. Thats what it says.And when sirius falls through it jkr calls it an ancient doorway...i dont know if that means anything,though.
duh!! the spell that "HIT" sirius the color rather was NOT mentioned!!
maybe disapperation?? maybe its a set up so harry will be safe?? we dont know we jus have to wait to find out what is gonna take place!!
now think like this... harry is vulnerable...voldermort knows this..so as a result... dumbledore and everyone in the ORDER make sure that harry thinks sirius is dead but he actually isn't...just for harry safety.
