Oh yeah...a poop which I don't want to ever remember again.

I don't want to remember any of your poops, especially if they take a year to come out!!! 😕

Dan Didio deserves to be crucified For this. I mean it surely not that ****ing hard to be a ****ing chief comic book editor.

I'm officially never picking up a non Geoff Johns or Grant Morison book ever again !

What the hell was he thinking ???

'Well we've got this new this big Crisis coming up in a years time, which Grant is going to be writing. I know it will be good because Grant has wanted to write it for the last four years. At the same time 52 has been quite successfully, so i want to create another weekly series. I doubt 52's original success had anything to do with its enormously talented writers, so ill just put a bunch of morons on it. Any way if it doesn't sell well initially, I'll blag it will have crucial effects upon the crisis that Grant's writing. Even though it will actually contradict it. Those continuity geeks will have to buy it, no matter how bad it is.

I don't think I'll ask Grant how he wants events to unfold, because I'm sure that Jim Starlin will be able to read his mind. And its not as if i ever really cared about continuity. Usually when something goes wrong, I'll get Grant, Mark or Geoff to sort it all out. I'm sure we can get Super-boy Prime to punch a glass wall or something equallyy ingenious. Yeah there's no point of worrying about trivial things like "continuity", especially when you have the best job in the world and sleep on a huge pile of money,.'

What a ****ing sell out !!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree, why throw countdown and more importantly DOTNG under the bus? its passing the buck, there is no excuse ,and what do they say....

"The way I see it readers can choose to spend the rest of the year fixating on the plot quirks of a series which has ended, or they can breathe a sight of relief, settle back and enjoy the shiny new DC universe status quo we’re setting up in the pages of Final Crisis and its satellite books. I’m sure both of these paths to enlightenment will find adherents of different temperaments."

That really is a slap in the face, i was only planning on getting final crisis and no tie ins, i might just not care anymore since nothing that came before will be thought out and included in it, i will think long and hard on this, my money is maybe better well spent elsewhere

Wow . . .

Well I really am more than happy to read FC on its own merits and let someone sort out lots of silly continuity problems later.

The fact is, Countdown was marketed as an integral part of the Final Crisis, but it isn't. I didn't buy Countdown, but i nearly ****ing did. I know there are a lot of people who wasted close to a £100 on a series that was not only completely wank, it had NO relevance to what it original purpose. This is actually a ****ING scam, and it shows that Didio cares a lot more about money rather than quality. I mean even Quesda's recent 'One more day' fiasco was done for the sake of improving story line. Countdown, has nothing to do with plot development. Its only purpose was to rinse people of their money and cause further plot confusion. I would be the first to accept that continuity should be ignored for the sake of a good story. But there no way in hell i endorse it for the sake of making D.C. money. Id rather wipe my arse with pound notes, at least i get the satisfaction of knowing Dan Didio didn't get my money, and a clean arse.

You can count me in for at least 25 or so issues of countdown, and i think its actually more, so i did fall for it, well its because i liked 52 so much that i actually even considered countdown, and i actually enjoyed DOTNG mini..

I did notice one thing, during DOTNG metron leaves his chair on a planet in an alternate reality, and maybe in the past....while searching for the New gods Killers benefactor....he meets the source and seems to leave his chair as he tells superman that without his chair he is just a spectator at the end of DONTG

And recently Libra sent a team of villains to get the chair, i think its supposed to be connected?

Comic developers put out comics to make money?

Of course they are looking to make money, but if 4 years ago the plans were made for final crisis, and recently they made a point to market countdown as the final crisis's lead in and then make the DONTG mini and not be prepared for what was contained within, they should have done a better job, not every one reads their comics online, we actually pay for them and 52 comics in a year which ultimately means nothing, and a DOTNG mini which was 8 issues, does not settle well with me....at least that the way it comes off in the interview....maybe they will surprise us...but i doubt it

I dont know maybe you thought to belittle my (our) dissapointment, in the series by pointing out your witty one liner, but it does not change my issue with this

Once again not very quick on the uptake ?

Leave him, he finds it hard to tell the difference between good and bad jokes let alone good and bad comics. He thought my Internet name was simply hilarious.

You both seemed surprised that developers cash in on marketing ploys. Countdown, Final Crisis, Secret Invasion, they snap a tie in sticker on and expect you to read it. Countdown was simply a way to keep readers buying one issue a week like 52 did.

Yeah it is funny (not simply hilarious because there's more to), tjcoady agreed and wrote this.

"It's "funny" in that Descartes was a hack whose contributions to philosophy and the development of science, while useful in their day, is basically worthless.

Of all the intellectuals throughout history, Descartes is in the bottom ten of who I'd choose a name after."

Also funny that you chose not to respond to that but I guess I can see why you wouldn't find so.

As for good and bad comics...I could have told you issue after three issues of Countdown that you were wasting your money. Yes, the real shame lies in the fact you wasted a lot of money on something so mediocre with ultimately no pay off. I sympathize with starlock there.

But as for comments like, "Dan Didio deserves to be crucified For this." No...just no.

Dan Didio doesn't deserve the fate of my savior. 😠

That like saying that Newton is a rubbish scientist because he believed in Alchemy. I challenge you come up with a better contribution to the world of philosophy than the "Cogito". Anyway i can't see why I'm debating humour with someones whose user name is about as funny as an orphanage on fire. Its "funny" how you didn't explain why you found it humorous at the time, and waited for someone a little less ignorant to come and explain it ?

No, I knew what it was and laughed about it. A silly little philosophical concept I learned first year Uni. I thought it was clever, and the only real value that comes out of your posts. You've also come to the wrong place if you want to argue philosophical matters. I cared little then and less now. Descartes is the greatest living creature of all time. Point conceded.

But you are good at dodging relevant points, I'll give you that. Much like the last thread.

Why throw them under? Simple. Because Countdown&DOTNG..........were abominable and deserved it. 😄 No one on this entire forum will argue Countdown was good. And practically all the new gods fans hated DOTNG. Starlin is a ****ing hack, and I'm glad Morrison is flipping him the bird. 😂

" As it is, the best I can do is suggest that the somewhat contradictory depictions of Orion and Darkseid’s last-last-last battle that we witnessed in Countdown and DOTNG recently were apocryphal attempts to describe an indescribable cosmic event."

^Now THAT, is something to look forward to and a genius way to get around Starlin's mess. 😮‍💨

Yes, Didio is a moron for not just giving Grant a free hand. But.....Grant&Geoff are crafting a masterpiece here. And this time, they won't let Didio screw it up like the ending to IC.

Sym: Co-****ing-sign. Screw Countdown&DOTNG. Let's let Grant&Geoff take their crack at this without any bias.

I take it that final crisis will be good and maybe great, its just countdown was...well a countdown to final crisis, good or bad it was misleading.

I actually liked DOTNG and was interested where and how it would all fit

Taste is not even debatable and should never be, what you think is good or bad, really does not equate to what i see as misleading and head honcho's who are not doing their job...and to add to it, he gives a pompus interview with ridiculus answers, i do hope Final Crisis is good or better, that does not mean i will spend my money on it

Some things we agree on Didio should have done things better, and that just might mean loosing my money...but i am sure he will get over it....real fast 😆

I'm a fan of the New Gods, and I rather enjoyed "DotNG". It had it's quirks, just like every other story does - but I thought it was pretty good, overall. *shrugs*

I just read final crisis one and wasnt impressed at all. I hope it gets much better than Darkseid brainwashing kids. Meh.
