DC Comics: The Final Crisis!

Crappy speed feat for DS.

Faster than light bullet. Remember how it was too fast for flashes to catch?

I'd care more about how it happened in two pages then how it made sense. Little rushed there.

I thought that was the original bullet only shot by the original gun, didn't notice Batman having both.

It was a scifi kirby gun batman fired. It's safe to say its the same gun that killed Orion.

For Christ's sake, Darkseid is a borderline cripple, and in double leg braces (Forrest Gump style.) Hell, Batman even commented on how shitty DS looked... Yet you expect him to dodge uber radion bullets? C'mon, are we just looking for excuses to demean him now?

I am a little upset if thats it for darkseid

I doubt it is. Highly.

I really liked the issue.

Spoiler:

Exactly what Darkseid is doing to the whole of creation has been solidified:

----

Luthor has seemingly killed Libra:

----

Bruce shot DS with a Radion-laced bullet, which is like New God Kryptonite:

Ohh, and DS killed Batman in the process, btw.

And finally, Superman has seemingly been drastically upgraded (big surprise) via an uber device called the 'Miracle Machine'. It can apparently turn thoughts into reality:

wow!! im definetely gonna hafta read that issue!!

I'll give this to DC: they're attempting to build an actual mythology. Always have been. Spidey, Cap, those are heroes. But DC heroes are gods. Not their powers, but the characters themselves. I can respect that, even if the execution is flawed.

Still too convoluted. Yes, I'm a psycho-dork like the rest of you so I know all the D-list characters and can follow the various plot lines. I'm not saying it's impossible to understand. I'm saying it's too dense and obscure for its own good. Three pages dedicated to Tawny, in what is supposed to be the biggest event ever in DC?! It doesn't have to be the Big 3 24/7, but come on. And Tawny's just one example.

Batman offing Darky, btw....not out of character for Bats. At least imo.

I agree with Digi, especially where Tawny is concerned. I was reading that part going "what the hell is the point here?"

I'm also wondering what that rubik's cube is/does?

At least Clark wasn't crying and getting his ass handed to him, as has been the case in past crisis's.

how do we know he was upgraded? i mean, i took it to mean that the miracle machine allowed him to go back in time and time shift to be in sync with the rest of the planet...

unless its for some other purpose that hasn't been shown yet...

Well this is better than RIP. Batman is definitely dead now.....at least for a while. He went down fighting as well just like Supes said in JLA #0. The double page shot of Batman getting zapped is great.

It "ping-ed"... some sort of upgraded motherbox?

I was wondering if it was an upgrade, too- he broke through that forcefield that was holding back John Stewart and Kara hella fast, but that could have just have been a mix of Darkseid being shot and weakened, and how downright furious Superman was.

Did Superma actually fight Darksied? The synopsis said they would ?

Superman furious = Skyfather. Not a joke. He becomes jobber aura personified. So I don't really think that we need to read it as an upgrade. I also took it to mean the Miracle Machine sent him back. Though with such a build-up from Brainy, you'd think Superman could just will DS out of existence or something. I would've lol'd.

No fight yet, apparently. I guess synopses can lie as much as covers.

Maybe next issue? Dunno.

Sounds like New Earth is moving.

And I gotta change my sig and avatar if that was the end of Darkseid. I know Morrison believed the New Gods never should have been running around fighting superheroes and such. He saw them as actual Gods, not just superheroes who called themselves the New Gods. Hope he sticks with. There was a sketch book for FC, with redesigned outfits for Desaad, Granny, and Lightray still yet to be seen in the main series.

So yeah, 7.

Hope that helps.

The majority of the issue was boring as hell. But I did enjoy when Kalibak got owned like that and his henchmen kneeing before Tawny the Tiger Man. LOL. Though I hated the Supergirl/Mary Marvel fight.

Best part about this issue was Darkseid's appearance and Batman's. Then Superman showing up and owning Darkseid's dog-riding Furies.
