Hope that helps.

I was talking about the rubik's cube Metron was holding in the latest issue. Not a CCU from Marvel. Thanks anyway.

how do we know he was upgraded? i mean, i took it to mean that the miracle machine allowed him to go back in time and time shift to be in sync with the rest of the planet...

unless its for some other purpose that hasn't been shown yet...

That's what I first thought as well. But then when Supes returned, he seemed hella uber - so I figured he may have been upgraded in some way. Not sure though.

me too. just wonder how clark is going to react to losing his best friend at the hands of darkseid...

Yeah, I'd agree. It would be fitting to see him unleash some skyfather level rage at Bruce's death anyway, they were best friends no matter what Frank Miller says. I liked the whole "heat vision cutting a swath in front of him red glowy eyed" look. It sort of reminded me of Chris Reeve's supes whe he found lois dead in the 1st movie.

Levels of power we've never seen Superman display, I'd guess.

Really? It's the most overused homage in comics.

Anyways, another sucky issue of FC.

Yep.
Changed my mind.
It sucked. I'm so impressionable! 😠

This all feels...Elseworld-ish...there seems to be no weight to the story...bruces apparent death..felt rushed and not really all that important...i griped in the begining about how crappy this series is...and i have not changed my stance....i dont see one issue salvaging this... for me at least.

I would have agreed with you up until Bruce's death. Batman is my favourite DC character but I really enjoyed his death scene. It was typical Bruce, going down fighting and taking Darkseid with him. He displayed resourcefulness in keeping the bullet to kill Darkseid, showed his detective skills in the build up and there was an quaint element of ring composition to the story with the bullet through time tieing to Bruce's relationship with gun crime.

Oh and he was badass in his final moments ✅

For Christ's sake, Darkseid is a borderline cripple, and in double leg braces (Forrest Gump style.) Hell, Batman even commented on how shitty DS looked... Yet you expect him to dodge uber radion bullets? C'mon, are we just looking for excuses to demean him now?

What about out reacting Batman?

I know is PIS, and this is how the story was meant to advance for plot proposes, I don't think is demeaning.

I think however that there will be people who will think its a crappy feat.

It doesn't get more badass than this. After being psychologically attacked by what was being suggested to be the Devil in human form who has prepared his attack for years, poisoned then buried alive, only to escape and revealing he has prepared for this attack all along, he overcomes the evil New Gods capturing him using only his memories and experiences and goes for the embodiement of evil itself, Darkseid. He just stands there, flat-out telling Darkseid that he is going to kill him and and not even blinking for a second he shoots Darkseid with the same bullet the aforementioned killed Orion, and as the beams approach him he doesn't even try to avoid his death.

I like how Grant explained why that was Batman's last word:

Batman's last word is "Gotcha." What can you say about that? Why is that his last word?
MORRISON: [Laughs] Because he got all evil. What has been Batman's mission all this time since the first gun—the first bullet—that made him? He finally gets the god of evil in his sights and shoots him. I think Batman's got a sense of humor and he knows better than Darkseid. It's almost like a wink to everyone.

Awesome.

You obviously missed the joke. The Miracle Machine sounded and looked (until it opened up) like the Cosmic Cube.

strange how you used that term "Devil in human form". It's something i've been wondering about for a while, but to suggest that darkseid is akin to satan would have no doubt attracted many a boo from the collective non darkseid liking fanbase. i had this big talk about it on msn a while back, how darkseid taking control of the ALE and the presence couldn't destroy anti-life as to destroy it would force him to destroy free will and so on and so on...

Where is this interview with Morrison from?

Once the issues are carefully read, it becomes pretty obvious that the answer is the Devil, though not in the 'I'm so powerfull' sense but more like stripped to its basic, original form, trying to destroy Batman. With the curse he layed upon Bruce the last time they met, which was fulfilled in Final Crisis (the next time he wears the cowl will be his last), this ideea is further enhanced. Not to mention that the funny thing is that people thought that the numerous Devil references and in some instances even flat-out stating that the Devil is the main villain are just formes of hyperbole with hidden meaning when in fact what Grant wrote was quite literal.

I'm not sure where Dr Hurt/The Devil stands in the grand scheme, whether he is related to Darkseid/Mandrakk or anything like that and to be honest, I preffer not finding out unless it's done in a compelling way.

Final Crisis: Revelations and the writer aswell have pretty much suggested that what Darkseid does is actually all part of God's plan, so this whole 'I won the war in heaven/I'm taking away free will' isn't actually defying God's will but only another step in the supposed grand plan.
