Maggedon's core was going to explode with enough force to destroy the galaxy. Superman absorbed all its anti solar energy so it could no longer explode. So he he did absorb enough energy to destroy a galaxy.
In actual explosions Superman has taken the biggest that can be determined is the multiple supernova level blast of a sun eater exploding.
There's also a good number of times he's shrugged off planet destroying blasts.
He's also weathered the full charge of Kyle's green lantern ring. A ring that can contain super novas with a portion of its power. He even held back a big bang with it.
Does anyone know of stories written where either Superman or Goku is the decisive victor?It would be entertaining to read story versions for both fighter.

That's the one thing I never understood, I was always under the impression that Mystic Gohan's powers derived from his own hidden powers that are completly seperate from the power a SSJ transformation would grant. If anything a SSJ transformation should amp his powers even more...so technically a SSJ3 transformation should make him even more powerful then Super Vegeto.

Though I still, after reading and watching it over and over again, haven't really seen Mystic Gohan being stronger than SSJ3 Goku. Under my best estimate, they are roughly the same.
Considering the above, each ascension requires the fighter to reach a certain strength. Gohan had more than enough power to get to SSJ3...and if Toriyama wanted, he could have written ascensions for mystic Gohan beyond SSJ3.
