All that means is that Dragonball has an anime and a manga, not that they are canon to each other.

he explains that and states the anime is the manga, if he states that then anime and manga would be canon t oeach other (they are extremely close, the animated series and comic of superman can't be compared)

He never says the anime is the manga (which wouldn't make any sense, as they are obviously different). He says the anime and the manga are both Dragonball.

Just like the cartoon Superman and the comic Superman are both Superman (but they are not the same continuity).

That was sort of my rambling point. It does help to explain things...but it also creates more problems. Things like the bus are very common. There is stupid shit like that in the Superman comics...but the DB universe seems to have more stupid moments per capita.

Which of course by itself does not say that they are of the same continuity. As X-men is both a comic book and the movie. which are NOT the same continuity.

yo ucant compare the movie and the comic, the anime comces directly from the manga while the movie is based of several different events in x-men comics, the manga and anime are more heavily based off each other having exactly the same events with the anime only containing a few more

he says he loves what theyve done to it as well, and states they are the same. this is for children why would he use a word like canon?

And its those extra events that break continuity. Just like the differences between the Sailor moon anime and the Sailor Moon Manga establish them as seperate continuity.
