Fc was written before countdown was finished. Who knows what will be canon and what wont be down the line here. It seems dc rushed both of these projects leaving many questions to the readers.

No the guys who did countdown screwed up. They never kept the FC guys informed about what they were doing in the weekly. Frankly, as good as DS' scheming was in Countdown, FC so far puts Countdown to shame.

It was addressed in book 3 of Crisis I believe. Mary Marvel says "the gods have been among you all this time", when she infects WW with DS' anti-life plague.

Basically DS and the other gods of Apokolips have been scheming in the background on Earth this whole time and it does put a question mark on a lot of DS previous showings as they relate to Earth.

We already got a taste of this from Seven Soldiers. Libra who calls himself "merely a prophet/messenger [of Darkseid]" withstood Spectre's power and hurt him. Spectre in frustration then decides to destroy the other villains that were with Libra because he couldn't kill him.

And after Libra has a big grin and says: "Very biblical well done, I do hope that made you feel... better..." Basically the Apokolips gods are unique in the universe (Libra says as much) and even the Spectre doesn't seem to have any power over them.

Again it reminded me of that previous time when Spectre Hal Jordan disintegrated Darkseid and the Source reformed him immediately because he's the dark side of the Source.

It seems to be more than a ripple. From what the Apokolips gods are saying they destroyed New Genesis and Orion (now assassinated) and Mr Miracle seem to be the last survivors of those new gods. And John Stewart said that Earth is screwed without New Genesis, they were the ones keeping DS from taking the foundation stone of existence, Earth.

EDIT: That crap he pulled with Orion's assasination had me scratching my head for a moment. And his scheming? Countdown now FC, he seems to have played the DC heroes for patsies.

Yes,for this story the writers are giving the new gods and their allies more power. This story isnt even halfway through so trying to base everything on vague statements doesnt cut the mustard.

Hal Jordan's Spectre killed him easily,but he was rezzed by the Source. Darkseid couldnt survive more than one shot fromt he Spectre.

What has Darkseid done in fc that has you so impressed so far?
