Probably the bit about Jedi being more capable then "most" other fictional characters.

Well they are. Explain why they are not.

Because there's probably more fictional character's that are vastly superior to a Jedi than not.

Superman
Martin Manhunter
Xavier
Rand (from the Wheel of Time series)

Etc. etc. etc. etc.

I said MOST, not ALL. 🙄

I don't know, if you take all fictional characters ever, there are probably more that are inferior to Jedi, seeing how many are just humans. But then you have things as God, does he just count as one and I mean he is vastly superior to any Jedi. Well, really, though, I was just replying with nonsense, as his point is subjective, and his silly absolute love of everything Star Wars even annoys me. He was also only talking about "badassery" an incredibly vague term to begin with.

Didn't say you said "all".

Very true, I was thinking more on the lines of fictional super types, as the Jedi are; even then, it is heavily subjective.

"badassery" = kicks serious ass (I think)

Wait, are we talking about actual ass kicked onscreen, or the ABILITY to kick ass?

I assumed ability.

Then Jedi.

Which brings us back to Bardock's frustration, the level of classic "fanboyism" you and Dadudemon display on these threads can be a bit overwhelming.

How so? Imagine Skywalker fully emerged in the dark side in a room full of enemies.

What is the meaning of fanboyism? Most definitions I hear are very varied. To me, it's when a fan of a certain character is devoted to a single subject in an emotional or fanatical manner often to the point where it is considered an obsession.

Is this your argument, Rob?

To me as it pertains to these specific Vs threads, it's going into a debate with a "Jedi are badass, they pwn all!" stance, ie refusing to apply objectivity from the very start.

Which is what I believe "fanboyism" is, a fanatical attraction to a character, franchise etc., as you said.

I think fanboyism entails more. It is about being blind about anything negative on their subject...overrating endlessly...maybe even being delusional about the subject they choose, as in adding their own ideas, contrary to the creators or writers. At least in relation to how it is used on here, I believe.

So, you're saying that the Jedis are being excessively pumped up for the circumstances of this fight?

I'm really trying to get more involved with these threads, guys, but work has been really kicking my ass lately. Motherf*ckers are buying a lot of beer these days, and I have to vend the shit out of it.

Exactly.

Wouldn't it depends on which enemies he was facing?
