1) Countering, generally. For they have the reaction speed to see it coming and meet it appropriately. The slow powerful guy can be avoided. Although when the faster one pushes forward (especially at the last ten call) they could use that extra speed to do lots of damage in and out without getting countered too much themselves.
As you say, the style of the other guy has to be taken into account too.
Ali backed of and countered against Liston, Foreman, most of the three Frazier fights... Yet in others, Brian London, Floyd Patterson, Jerry Quarry, Cleaveland Williams he came forward more.

How exactly is that PIS when it depicts his powers like they are in the comic books and the movie is based off the comic books?
You'll dismiss something that is seen on film in regards to Spider-man, yet amp-up the SW characters with things not seen strictly in the films. The Spider-man scene is there and it's obvious what it was supposed to depict, ie his powers.

Uh, no. It was NOT intended as PIS by the director but that's exactly what it ended up being. It was meant for a "WTF! THAT'S AWESOME" moment to appeal to the viewer...part of the thing that made Spiderman so awesome. It's the same bullshit that people loved in Karate kid, van Damme, Stallone, etc. movies.
