True. But you gotta have a movie people like to see more than once to get such box office results.

I edited the end agreeing with that.

Of course the same argument could be made with TPM though. Edit- I'm only bringing up the Prequels because CBT said something about Comparing this to Prequel money which is why I commented.

I got my hands on the reviewer's copy.

Meanwhile, we still have these idiots:

That's so badass.

I agree. If I had the money to burn I'd absolutely spend the 2k to buy out a theater for a "private" viewing (friends and family only). But, I'm not super rich soo...yah.

that's actually completely douchey, assuming it's true, which it probably isn't.

Why does everyone feel the need to attack the Prequels when defending this movie?
Your favorite Star Wars film isn't a prequel so why do you care ? I'm the one on record defending the rots to be the best Star Wars film to date.

Disagree.

Positives:
1. No body odor cosplayers to worry about
2. Best seats in the house
3. No babies crying
4. No disruptive talkers/cell phone users

Negatives:
1. Spend 2k to empty theater

As I said, If I had that kind of disposable income I'd definitely do what he did.

nah it's a douche move by a cartman wannabe.

Oh wow, a South Park reference. You must be right now.....or not. Your opinion is that it's a douche move. My opinion is that it's awesome. Let's agree to disagree because neither one of us is wrong.

uh huh...but only one of us is getting mad over an opinion right now.

Yah, you are. You keep calling it a "Douche" move. Proving that you are very upset over how someone decided to spend their money. Let it go bro, you'll be happier you did.

Look at the man's fingers and the interior of his car. He's a manual laborer, and he has just given up a month's salary to see this movie. That's how little his life is worth.

It's not "awesome" and it's not "a dick move," it's idiocy.

i'm guessing that he was charged with purchasing tickets for some employee-outing and made a joke of it on twitter.

You don't speak for anyone else other than yourself. So your priorities and how you spend your time only applies to you not him.

You accuse me of being mad, and clearly you're the one with issues. You really are taking this seriously aren't you? Did someone buy your tickle-me Elmo when you were a kid and so now you think anyone that spends their money the way they want is a douche? I can start insulting you to if you'd like. Clearly you're resorting to insults because you feel it's your only weapon.

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough?

No Quan, clearly their opinion is the only one that matters. They're right, everyone else is wrong. 😉

Little Star Wars box office history lesson for those interested:

TPM only had a 21% drop for it's second weekend, which even at the time was considered phenomenal for the kind of opening weekend it had:
