Difficult to argue against your opinion, you're allowed to enjoy what you enjoy, even if it's made of inferior film making.

You frigging Mad Max hater ahah

Mad max sucked. Lemmings like Robbie praised it but he likes the same films most others agree on. He's the textbook definition of a follower.

no, it's both.

You didn't think their origins, their dialogues, their personalities and their actions seemed a bit... generic? Granted, it's a family film, but still....

Kylo was not generic at all. Snoke is the evil master who I like to have no conflict so I love it.

I too liked Darth Vader and the Emperor when I first saw the Star Wars movies at 6 or 7. You'll grow out of it.

Darth Vader was ok but he's no Kylo Ren. The emperor turned out to be a giant coward. Snoke is the real deal.

It seems the world hasn't outgrown Star Wars. Your opinion is just your own.

i still don't understand why ep7 is singled out as being unoriginal, as if the whole saga has been consecutive revolutions in story telling ...until NOW.

Perhaps because Episode 7 copied it's plot from Episode 4.

Whether that bothered you or not, whether you liked it or not, it is kind of blatant that's what Ep. 7 did, so a pretty fair criticism tbh.

I guess my taste is a fair bit more refined than the rest of the world's then.

So you hate Snoke and Kylo Ren. Your Star Wars hate is despicable.

no i truly didnt. especially when contrasted with the other trilogies. just seems like some unfair singling out.

sure there was plenty of plot mirroring, but to call it a carbon copy of ep4 is just silly. but believe what you will. doesnt make me enjoy the film any less.

Draco Malfoy didn't teach Voldemort everything he knew and tried to kill him. You're ignoring the rest of the history and just taking that out of the equation.

Let me ask you this. Do you think Disney would portray him as lucky or a master manipulator greater than the likes of Palpatine for their new trilogy. Which seems likelier ?

Doesn't matter. The point is that X outliving Y doesn't mean anything, especially if X had to wait until Y was dead to do anything significant. Regardless of whether or not Snoke is Plagueis, we know that Snoke only acted until after the Emperor was killed. Looks like fear.

To answer your question, I have no idea. Right now the First Order is trying to reclaim the Empire's position and dominance per the source material. How Snoke will stack up to Palpatine as a manipulator and strategist remains to be seen. But what's certain is that he has a long road ahead.

Believing his assassination attempt on Plaeguies' life and him still, plotting and resurfacing definitely suggests that especially when we have Palpatine admit he's greater in the force than he is. So the guy who struck when his master slept isn't the guy full of fear ? Unbelievable. Palpatine is dead.

If he foresaw all of this and bided his time to strike we will see he's the big bad which makes since since Palpatine didn't foresee his own true death at the hands of Vader. We will see and I'll be there when Snoke surpasses your boy. Stay tuned.

If by "Carbon Copy" you mean it wasn't exactly the same, word for word, character for character, scene for scene, then you're right.

But if you're going to just deny that this pretty much rehashed the story of ANH, but in a Sequel format, then I really don't know what to say to that except we've seemed to have watched different films.

That's great you really enjoyed it. I'm not trying to convince you to stop enjoying it or to start hating on it. Some of us are just expressing our disappointments and issues with the movie.

well i think it's horseshit. but i'm also glad that my opinion doesnt deter from your hating the film.

Especially when factoring in we see Snoke in episode 7 and how the final duel ended in this film. He wa t's to pretend everything was the same because he hated the film.

Didn't you guys feel Snoke looked like someone out of LOTR?

as i said earilier, he looked a bit too cartoony for my taste. without that scar he'd look as downright generic as the new doomsday cavetroll.

Yeah, he did seem a bit generic.

So J.J. Abrams is not directing Episode VIII. Am I the only one who sees the problem here?

Source.

Yes

It's very problematic. Imagine how bad the OT would have turned out if they each had different a director... 🙄
