Jude Law Is Jack Burden In 'All The King's Men'
[Friday, July 23rd, 2004]Jude Law has been cast as Jack Burden, the journo-narrator of Robert Penn Warren's novel All the King's Men, according to Variety.
Sean Penn is in negotiations to star as Willie Stark, the Huey Long-like politician whose rise and fall the film chronicles.
Steven Zaillian wrote the script and is directing.
Movie will draw more heavily on Penn Warren's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, published in 1946, than on the 1949 best picture Oscar winner starring Broderick Crawford and John Ireland.
