Meryl Streep has left the film adaptation of Robert Penn Warren novel All the King's Men, according to Variety.

The studio is in talks with another A-list actress, with an announcement expected imminently. Jude Law, Sean Penn and Kate Winslet are still attached with Steven Zaillian writing and directing.

Streep was set to play Sadie, the aide to Willy Stark (Sean Penn), the Huey Long-like politician whose rise and fall the film chronicles.
