Renée Zellweger Ready For 'Bridget Jones' Sequel

Renée Zellweger has said she is willing to reprise her hit role as Bridget Jones in the sequel The Edge of Reason.

Speaking with the NY Post yesterday, she said, "I'm ready, willing and able. Bridget's a character I really identify with. I'll put the weight back on with pleasure."

She was apparently persuaded to return by Colin Firth, her on-screen lover in the first film, who is expected to reprise his role as Mark Darcy.

Zellweger is thought to be gaining as many as 20 pounds over the next few months for an estimated salary of $20 million.

'Bridget Jones 2' is expected to be released in Summer 2004.
