Terry Gillam's 'Brothers Grimm' Gets Start Date


Director Terry Gilliam's Brothers Grimm is to start filming in Prague on June 30, according to Variety. The horror/comedy fairytale fictionalization of the Grimm brothers' lives had been floated for Prague for well over a year before getting the final go-ahead.

Heath Ledger and Matt Damon are slated to play German authors Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm as traveling spellbusters, claiming to protect townsfolk from enchanted creatures until they come face to face with a real magical curse.

Principal photography gets under way June 30. The 17-week shoot films through Oct. 23 at Barrandov and on location in the Czech Republic.
