Crouching Tiger Named

The LATimes report that the U.S. Catholic bishops have named "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" as their pick for the year 2000:
The U.S. Catholic Conference, the social policy arm of the bishops' conference, reviewed 240 movies and announced its top choices.
In addition to "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," set in 19th century China and featuring masterful special effects and martial arts scenes, the bishops' recommendations included "Traffic," a suspense thriller about the drug trade starring Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, and "Chicken Run," a British claymation adventure about a flock of chickens trying to avoid the butcher's pie machine.
