Dane Cook Joins Steve Carell In 'Dan In Real Life'

Dane Cook is in final talks to play opposite Steve Carell in the romantic comedy Dan in Real Life, according to the Hollywood Reporter.Peter Hedges is directing for Touchstone Pictures. Cook also made a sale to the Weinstein Co. came about when Cook was making the rounds pitching another project. He told the execs a one-line idea, and they went for it. Details are being kept under wraps, though it is known to be a relationship comedy with heart and broad elements. Cook will now write the script with another writer, yet to be determined.
