Destiny's Child Singer Joins 'Freddy Vs. Jason'

Destiny's Child singer Kelly Rowland will share screen time with a pair of Hollywood horror kingpins in her big-screen debut, as the pop star has joined the cast of New Line Cinema's "Freddy vs. Jason."

Rowland will play one of a group of friends who team up to spark a battle between the legendary evildoers Freddy Krueger (of "A Nightmare on Elm Street" fame) and Jason Vorhees (of the "Friday the 13th" franchise).

Rowland joins previously announced cast members Brad Renfro and Robert Englund in the film, which is being directed by Ronny Yu and will start shooting Sept. 9 in Vancouver.
