Nick Hamm Reveals Five 'Godsend' Endings

Director Nick Hamm says he has shot several endings for his upcoming sci-fi thriller Godsend. "We shot five endings," he told Sci-Fi Wire. The film sees Kinnear play Paul Duncan, a husband who gets a second chance at fatherhood through cloning, after his son is accidentally killed. De Niro plays the doctor who makes him the dubious offer, and Rebecca Romijn-Stamos plays Jessie Duncan, Duncan's wife.

Hamm offers some spoilers by describing some of the endings he has shot. "There are permutations of Greg dying, Greg living, the kid killing everybody, the doctor dying in two different ways, and Greg dying in two different ways."

Hamm says there is no point in hiding the fact that the movie has several endings. "It doesn't make the movie worse or better because you shot a bunch of different endings over a period of time as you were cutting it. We never really shot a good ending while I was shooting the picture; I knew there was something wrong, and we needed to find one."

Hamm added that the DVD version of the movie will include all the endings they have shot. "You're going to have all of those on the DVD, and it's sort of better that way, because it's an organic process, so show it."

Godsend will be released nationwide April 30th.
