Milos Forman To Direct 'Goya's Ghosts'
[Thursday, August 25th, 2005]Czech director Milos Forman is set to direct the film based on the Spanish Inquisition Goya's Ghosts, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The feature, starring Natalie Portman and Javier Bardem, tells the story of the last years of the Spanish Inquisition, when the Church tortured and executed suspected Jews, as told by the painter, played by Stellan Skarsgard.
Portman plays Goya's muse Ines, falsely accused of heresy, while Bardem plays a sinister monk, Brother Lorenzo. Filming is due to start in September.
