Cate Blanchett & Clooney In 'The Good German'

George Clooney and Cate Blanchett is to star in the romantic thriller The Good German, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Steven Soderbergh is directing for Warner Bros. Pictures, which he will also be producing with Clooney through their Section Eight Prods.

The Good German follows an American journalist who is sent to cover the Allied summit meeting that will carve out control of post-World War II Germany. However, the reporter is secretly there to search for a lost love, and when the body of an American soldier washes up in the Russian zone, he is plunged into a murder mystery.

A September start date is being eyed.
