Terry Zwigoff To Direct 'Happy Days'
[Monday, July 10th, 2006]
The story follows a thirtysomething man who decides to leave his wife and children and check himself into a rest home. There he develops a special bond with an old woman suffering from terminal cancer, taking her on a special journey as her last wish.
"Johnny Depp asked me to do the film," "Bad Santa" director Zwigoff said. "He said he chose me because I'm very Hal Ashby-like. I took that as a compliment. It's a very quaint, fantastical story."
