Steam Engine Possible Culprit For 'Harry Potter 3' Fire

A fire which had swept the Harry Potter set at the weekend could have been started by a scrub fire in the steam engine being used to film Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

"We were told it was the Harry Potter train that caused the fire. It got out of control quite quickly," one resident, who witnessed the blaze but did not wish to be named, told Reuters.

Police said the fire broke out at the filming site while a steam train was being used, but said officers had not yet established the cause of the fire.

A water-bombing helicopter was used to put out the blaze, which destroyed about 80 acres of scrub and some parts of a nearby forest in the dry Glenfinnan hillside Saturday.

Police evacuated a number of residents in the vicinity but they have since returned to their homes.

Filming is expected to continue with the final release unchanged from the June 2004 date.
