Mira Nair Offered 'Harry Potter 5' Directors Role

Mira NairIndian-born director Mira Nair says that she's been offered the helming chair for Harry Potter 5. "I'm getting offers to direct Harry Potter [and the] Order of the Phoenix," Nair told the Delhi Times newspaper. "I read it over the weekend. I'm still deciding."

"My son Zoharan's excited. I've seen all the Harry Potter movies with him." The fifth Harry Potter movie will be based on JK Rowlings bestselling "Order of the Phoenix". Nair is best known for directing Monsoon Wedding.

The fourth Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire, is currently in production and is scheduled to be released November 18, 2005, while Harry Potter 5 is aiming for a June 2007 release.
