Selma Blair Joins Perlman In 'Hellboy'

Selma Blair will pair with Ron Perlman in "Hellboy," the Guillermo del Toro-directed comic-book adaptation that begins shooting in March for Revolution Studios, reports Variety.

The title character is a red-hued fellow, birthed in Hell during a pagan ritual, who gets rehabilitated and trained for crime-fighting duty. He falls in love with a woman (Blair) who can psychically control fire. Rick Baker is aboard to provide the special effects.

The film puts del Toro back in league with Perlman, who played a key role in "Blade II."

Columbia plans to release the picture in 2004.
