Bill Nighly & Martin Freeman Join 'Hitchhikers Guide'
[Wednesday, January 14th, 2004]Bill Nighly (Love Actually) and Martin Freeman, from TV's The Office, are both up to star in the film adaptation of The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, according to the BBC.
Nighly will play an alien planet designer Slartibartfast and Freeman will play Arthur Dent, the everyday earthling thrust into interplanetary adventure.
"The people who are making it are very cool people and I think they're going to do a good job," Nighly told the BBC. "All the jokes are there and they're big fat jokes. It's wonderful. And with all the technology we have now, it can not only be a big satisfying comedy but I figure it could be quite exciting as well."
He goes on to say that the project is still looking for a director, although writer-director Garth Jennings and producer Nick Goldsmith have been linked with the project.
