Michael Bay To Direct Sci-Fi Thriller 'The Island'

Michael Bay is set to direct the sci-fi thriller The Island for Dreamworks, according to The Hollywood Reporter.The deal came about after Dreamworks bought the rights to The Island from writer Caspian Treadwell-Owen. The sci-fi thriller is being described as a cross between The Fugitive and The Matrix. Specifics of the plot are being closely guarded.
Bay last directed Bad Boys II starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence for Columbia Pictures.
