Attenborough Not In Jurassic 3

Richard Attenborough says that he is not upset that he was not asked to play his character in the third instalment. He said that he didnt even know if his character John Hammond lived at the end of part 2, as he says he tends not to watch his own movie. Ananova reports :

"Did I die in the last one? I don't know, I looked pretty decrepit," he told Ananova.

"I've never seen it. I don't like going to see my own movies. I haven't seen Jurassic, Elizabeth or Miracle.

"I haven't seen Hamlet either, but don't tell Kenneth Branagh!"

Lord Attenborough says he has just finished work on Puckoon, based on the book by Spike Milligan.

"I play a director. I introduce and end the movie, much like Jurassic Park," he says.

"Most of my work is commentary because I am commentating on what Spike is demonstrating by virtue of his story. I did about three days on the film."

Lord Attenborough has directed a number of films including Cry Freedom, Ghandi, Chaplin and Shadowlands.

He says he thinks the story of CS Lewis is the best thing he has ever done.

"I'm conceited enough to think the best performance Anthony Hopkins ever gave was in Shadowlands," he says.

Having won the Best Director Oscar for Ghandhi in 1983, Lord Attenborough is eligible to vote for this year's awards, but he says he has not seen all the films.

"I haven't voted yet, I haven't seen all the films but I will before I vote," he says.

"Obviously great credence goes to Billy Elliot, but it won't win. It's very exciting that Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon is not just in the foreign film category".
