Clive Owen On 'King Arthur' Horse-Riding

Clive OwenClive Owen, star of upcoming King Arthur, says the horse-riding part of his role was the most difficult. "There's a huge amount of [horse-riding]," Owen told Sci-Fi Wire. "It became a very enjoyable thing in the end, but all of us put a lot of time into it, way before we got to Ireland."

"A half an hour outside of London, the guy who was driving all of the horses had a stable, and we would all go out," Owen said. "The first day of the film, every one of us had never been on a horse before. And they were shooting, and they said, 'Guys, just go as fast as you can. Whatever you feel safe with.' As an actor, when you're told that, you want to deliver. And we did some pretty lively horse stuff on the movie, considering we're not stunt guys."

Owen says he was more confident once he mastered the horse-riding. "When you're on a huge white horse in this sort of fantastic armor, you feel good," laughed Owen. "You feel tough."
