Thomas Kretschmann In 'King Kong' Talks

Thomas Kretschmann is in talks to join the cast of Peter Jackson's update of the 1933 classic King Kong, says the Hollywood Reporter.

Based on the original story by Merian C. Cooper and Edgar Wallace, it is the story of the gigantic gorilla captured in the wilds and brought to civilization, where he meets a tragic fate.

Kretschmann would play the boat captain who transports the king-sized gorilla of the film's title to America. He would join stars including Naomi Watts, Jack Black and Adrien Brody.
