Emile Hirsch & Heath Ledger Join 'Dogtown'
[Monday, February 16th, 2004]Emile Hirsch, star of The Girl Next Door, and Heath Ledger are set to star in Columbia Pictures' The Lords of Dogtown, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The project is a fictionalized version of Stacy Peralta's documentary "Dogtown and Z-Boys" and is based on a Spin magazine article that explored 1970s skateboarding culture.
The story follows a group of young California surfers who take their style to the streets as skateboarders, thereby launching a new sport that defined a generation. Hirsch and Ledger will play part of the revolutionary clan.
