Michael Winterbottom To Direct 'A Mighty Heart'

Brit director Michael Winterbottom is to direct A Mighty Heart, according to Variety.A Mighty Heart, based on Mariane Pearl's memoir about the kidnap-murder of her journalist husband Daniel Pearl, will star Angelina Jolie and is being produced by Brad Pitt's Plan B. It starts shooting next month.
The hoopla that surrounds Pitt and Jolie couldn't be further from the fierce commitment to authenticity that Winterbottom has always displayed, most recently with "The Road to Guantanamo."
Yet Winterbottom was Jolie's choice for the director's chair, and in many ways he's a perfect fit. Jolie's personal engagement with Third World issues mirrors the geopolitical concerns that have become increasingly evident in the helmer's work.
