Steven Spielberg’s 'Munich' Gets No Publicity

Steven Spielberg’s Munich is to have no press junket, no premiere and no Oscar marketing campaign, reports LA Weekly.

Opening December 23rd, the only advertising their will be are trailers and posters.

“The official strategy is for the movie to speak for itself,” said an insider to the publication. “All they’re going to do is just show the movie to people. You have to be Steven Spielberg to get away with that.”

The project about the 1972 Olympics has been shrouded in secrecy and the film was not completed until recently. Universal Execs will be viewing the film this week, while executive producer Kathleen Kennedy did not see a completed product until last week, when John Williams was scoring the feature.
