Stephen Sommers Not Returning For 'Mummy 3'
[Wednesday, May 19th, 2004]Stephen Sommers, who directed the previous two 'Mummy' movies, says that he will not be returning for The Mummy 3. "I've done my Mummys," Sommers told Sci-Fi Wire. "There may be a third Mummy, but I need to do a small movie about two girls chatting on a beach."
Sommers also dismissed any suggestions about making any sequels to any other movies. "A lot of people have been talking about sequels, but what they forget is that I'm the one who has to make it," he said. "I'm just tired right now. As soon as I finish this, I'm going to go to the beach. I've been working 16 hours a day, seven days a week, for two years."
