Cole Hauser To Star In Mel Gibsons 'Paparazzi'

Cole Hauser ("White Oleander") will star in "Paparazzi," a pet project of Mel Gibson, who will serve as a producer, reports Variety..

The story revolves around a movie star who plots revenge after suffering a near tragedy due to relentless hounding by a photographer.

Although the project is budgeted at about $20 million, the film will likely include a number of high-profile actor cameos in order to create a realistic sense of the celebrities that pepper the paparazzo's world.

The 20th Century Fox picture is set for a February start.

Directing is Paul Abascal, a former hairstylist who first worked with Gibson on the first three "Lethal Weapon" movies. Forest Smith wrote the script.
