'Peter Pan's Wendy Has Been Found

After a three-continent search, the filmmakers behind the live-action "Peter Pan" have found their Wendy in 12-year-old English newcomer Rachel Hurd Wood, who will be making her feature acting debut on the project, reports Variety.

Hogan and Michael Goldenberg adapted the material from J.M. Barrie's story. "Rachel Hurd Wood has that rare combination in a child -- natural acting brilliance and luminosity onscreen," Fisher said.

The cast also includes Jeremy Sumpter as Peter Pan, Jason Isaacs as Captain Hook, Ludivine Sagnier as Tinkerbell and Olivia Williams as Mrs. Darling. Wood. Before being cast in "Pan," she had appeared only in school plays.

The project, a three-way co-production of Universal Pictures, Columbia Pictures and Revolution Studios, is set to start production Sept. 30, with P.J. Hogan directing.
