'Shrek 2' Producer To Make Comedy 'Phreex'

John H. Williams (Shrek 2) is to make an animated feature revolving around a group of rejected lab animals called Phreex, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Phreex tells the story of a group of animals that set out to find their way in the world. They discover a sanctuary run by a Bill Gates-type figure that offers itself as a home to animals of all shapes and sizes. Williams described the film as a "big, broad comedy."

"It's a really funny script, but the heart of the film is the heart. We are aiming for a poignant film. Kids many times grow up feeling like freaks and thinking they are the only one like that. The irony is that everyone feels that way. It's really about accepting who you are and finding a community."
