Paltrow Takes Proof To Big Screen

Gwyneth Paltrow is to appear in a movie version of her new West End play 'Proof', which will be directed by John Madden.

She will make her West End debut at London's Donmar Warehouse for a six-week run in May.

Paltrow plays the daughter of a mathematical genius, trying to come to terms with his death and his legacy.

Miramax has bought the film rights to the play specifically for the actress. Miramax director Harvey Weinstein told the UK paper Daily Express: "Gwyneth and I were so thrilled by the play that I bought the rights for her.

John Madden will move on to the movie the minute she is free. They have amazing chemistry."
