Meryl Streep To Join 'Rendition' Thriller

Meryl Streep is set to join the cast of New Line's Middle East political thriller Rendition, says Variety.Streep, who joins Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon, will portray a government official who approves the transfer -- the so-called rendition -- to a Middle East country of a suspect in a suicide bombing.
The project, helmed by Gavin Hood, began production last week. Streep will film her scenes in Los Angeles in the next few days.
