'Nip/Tuck' Creator Is 'Running With Scissors'

Ryan Murphy (TV's "Nip/Tuck" Creator) is to write and direct an adaptation of Augusten Burroughs' bestselling memoir Running With Scissors, according to Variety.

Currently on the cast are Annette Bening, Gwyneth Paltrow, Brian Cox and Joseph Cross, with Evan Rachel Wood and Joseph Fiennes in negotiations to join the lineup.

Scissors recounts a boy's bizarre childhood growing up with a bipolar and monstrously selfish mother. Cross will portray the young Burroughs. Role will be Paltrow's first in almost two years.

Shooting is to start on March 7 in Los Angeles on Running With Scissors.
