Director McG Talks 'Superman' Departure
[Saturday, July 17th, 2004]McG, who recently quit as director of Warner Bros. upcoming Superman movie, says that he and the executives at the studio could not agree on the focus of the story. "I was passionate about telling the genesis story, and the studio wanted something a little different," McG told Sci-Fi Wire. "We were working on the picture for a long time, and ultimately we just agreed that it's best just to pursue other interests at this point."
He adds that he hopes to work with the studio again in the future. "It was very good," he said. "I'm going to look into some of the things we have in development at Wonderland and go some different directions and watch over our television business and keep trying to develop the storytelling."
