Will Ferrell's 'Talladega Nights' For Columbia

Columbia Pictures are set to make Will Ferrell's comedy Talladega Nights, says the Hollywood Reporter.

Named after the famous racing track and set in the world of high-stakes professional stock car racing, the film will be helmed by Adam McKay.

"We love this project and couldn't be more thrilled about working with Will, Adam, Judd and Jimmy," said Columbia's Matt Tolmach.

"To produce this film with these three guys is a dream come true for me. Not only are they longtime clients, they are some of my best friends and some of the most talented people I know. I feel that this material is in great hands with Amy and Matt and the entire team at Sony," adds producer Jimmy Miller.

The project is set for a summer 2006 release.
