Kevin Pollak To Write Tim Allen Family Comedy
[Thursday, September 19th, 2002]Walt Disney Pictures has paid low- against mid-six figures to purchase an untitled high-concept comedy as a vehicle for Tim Allen to topline, reports Variety.
Pic is being penned by the actor-scribe Kevin Pollak, who appears with Allen in Disney's upcoming Christmas release "The Santa Clause 2." It is unclear at this stage whether Pollak will have a role in the pic.
Details of pitch are being kept under tight wraps. The high-concept family comedy centers around a wealthy man who comes across an unusual character who ends up having a positive influence on his life and character. Pollak brought the idea to Allen and the two then developed it together.
This marks the first major studio writing gig for Pollak, who previously wrote and will direct an untitled psychological mystery for StudioCanal.
