Christopher Masterson Into 'Intellectual Property'

Christopher Masterson (Malcolm in the Middle) has signed onto two independent films Intellectual Property and Waterborne, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The actor has teamed with Martin Berneman and Nick Peterson to produce the indie film Intellectual Property. Masterson also will topline the project, which is set at the height of the Cold War, centering on a brilliant young inventor (Masterson) who is determined to protect his revolutionary inventions. Peterson will make his directorial debut on the film following the short film "Mum."

Masterson also is attached to star in the indie film Waterborne, the story of a fictional terrorist strike on the water supply of Los Angeles and how it affects the lives of people in the area. Jake Muxworthy also is attached to star for director Ben Rekhi. Masterson will play Zach, a guy with a Venice Beach vibe who acts as the voice of reason throughout the film.
