Oliver Stones 'Alexander The Great' To Get Head Start
[Friday, December 20th, 2002]Warner Bros. are pushing forward with their "Alexander the Great" project as the just closed a deal to become the domestic distributor, which greenlit it for a June start, reports Variety.
The Warner Bros. picture stars Colin Farrell as the Macendonian conqueror with Oliver Stone directing the movie.
This new means that they will get a head start before Baz Luhrmann movie, which has Leonardo DiCaprio toplining. Luhrmann's picture has DreamWorks and Universal financing.
Both films are the passion projects for a lot of high-powered filmmakers and execs, but they are also among the most expensive films ever attempted.
